International Postcard Swap
OK, my friends, I need your help.  I am planning a trip to Paris in the spring of 2013 and I need your advice.  Please recommend places Mr. B and I should stay, where we should eat, and what we should see other that the 10 most likely places a tourist would visit.  I really want to go to the city to soak up the atmosphere.  I intend to spend my time in the city and will be walking a lot.  I want to eat, drink, and people watch.  Probably will be there for 5-7 days.  So, you're the experts.  Let me know the best or the over-rated.  I've been reading Frommer's.
Share your travel tips, and Thank you.

  1. No Paris advice here but WOW you're really going huh? Cool!!! Actually I guess I do have some advice - there's some great big flea market that you prolly shouldn't miss but I have no idea where etc. Oh what fun you'll have. We expect tons of pics.

  2. Lucky you! I was lucky enough to visit in 2007 and now so want to go back. Before i left my brother gave me a little book of cards called Paris Walks. Each card has a section of Paris for a half or full day walk with all the sites to see marked on a little map and description on the other side. It was the BEST thing to use and now i keep an eye out for any of these for other cities. HIGHLY recommend you get a set/book. Love, Janine

  3. Thanks for the great advice. I had forgotten about those cards. They were a great help in NYC. What I really, really need is advice on where to stay. I know it is going to be expensive, but I'm hoping to find that unique place that is close to attractions, but not overpriced. I have been doing mucho reading. How can I be a tourist without paying like a tourist? I don't need to pay 12 euros for breakfast. bb

  4. I spent a month in France two years ago, one week of it in Paris. Loved the city and walked everywhere like you intend to do. My blog (alleyartstudio.blogspot.com) chronicles our entire trip (October, 2010) if you want to take a peek. I'm sure you'll get lots of great recommendations, but a highlight was getting drinking chocolate from Angelina's (by the Louve). To. Die. For.
