Bird Spirit

Sunday, June 11, 2017

Just finished creating "Bird Spirit". All made of found objects. Main form is a shoe stretcher. Little glass bottles inside the top. A faucet handle and a bingo piece at the very top. A tin bird, blanket pins, a mask, and a rusty key all inside a key box. Lots of decision making. I love the results. SOLD!!!!'

Betting on Spring

Sunday, May 28, 2017

MY latest assemblage. This box came together when I found this bunch of wire at the recycle bin In Kingsley. The ball-bearing thing and the game piece came from an earlier find at the recycle bin. Then, to finish it off I needed some sort of base to set it on. Spent a couple days going to resale shops, but in the end, opted for a battery cover that, yes, was from the recycle bin.  Do I find these treasures or do they find me?  So another box finished!

Watercolor show at the distillery

Saturday, April 8, 2017

The watercolor show is ready for viewing at the Grand Traverse Distillery on Front St. Downtown Traverse City. Hard to tell the seasoned artist from student work. It was great to see the work of students in Glenn Wolff's NMC class. My contribution is watercolor on a black and white digital photo printed on Velvet Art paper.  Such a variety of styles in this show.

Class in Gaylord

Another successful class held at the Gaylord Art Center.  My students were a blast- lots of laughter and good fun. Surprising final products. Thanks ladies for such a fun teaching day.

Working, working. Who Cares if it's snowing

Saturday, February 25, 2017

Finished two new artistic wonders(that's my opinion). Both 30" x 30". Using acrylic paint, painter's blue tape, painted paper, magazine paper, and word transfers. Thought I would add little houses made from magazine paper to spice it up a bit. Loving work with color schemes and breaking all the rules.
     " Different Shades of Blues"

    "Summer Sunrise"

CRow Languages heads to Studio Door

Saturday, January 14, 2017

Out of 200 entries in the Third Annual Crow Show held at the Studio Door in San Diego, Crow Languages has been chosen. Vintage paper, a bunch of magazine lettering, pages from old language books, make this an interesting page. In addition a stencil letter and rust. The idea is that if crows can learn English, they must be speaking world languages. I'm thrilled to be in this show.
