Tag Tuesday~Vintage

Return the Children
This tag was created using a vintage picture board for the background, Tim Holtz stamped image, collaged numbers, ticket and butterflies,  added key, and reworked the sentiment.  Mostly glueing and arranging. I'm trying to recycle paper and stuff.  Inspiration and further explanation is here:

Jan. 2012 MailArt-Transportation

Back of envelope
MailArt Transportation theme:  to my buds in California and Michigan.  Wanted to try something new, so made my envelope out of the cover of a used book "Orient Express".  Found that stamping on a glossy paper is a challenge and ended up using Stazon Ink.  Another new technique was to use mailing labels and run copies of stamps.  It gives a different look since the stamps are cut off.  Loved the postage stamps because they were transportation.  Also got a chance to use my Palmer Cox brownie stamp as a return address.  Tried to make it look like he is following the train.   I don't always have a great selection of postage stamps at my little Post Office, but the Car stamps were perfect.  Next month...Beatles songs.  I already have an idea in mind.

Fashion Trend Setting Zetti Snowman
Here is my tag for the Tag Tuesday Challenge.  My goal, this year, is to try out new techniques.  Making a zetti is new for me.  The closest thing to it was my "Mona Goes Goth" Mail art.  So, here is my snow man.  I especially love the sentiment and the owl.  I did learn that stamping on a glossy paper has to be done with Stargazer inks.  I had an awful time. And using white pen can be a challenge.  I do like posting because it shows up the flaws so they can be corrected the next time.  Chalk it up to learning.  Go over to TagTuesday if you want to see some beautiful tags.

December Mail Art Tag

Tag Tuesday~Snow

I love making Tags.  It is a way to make a small piece of art and to try out new techniques.  My Joy Mail Art winter tag went to my bud ,Leslie.  I had a chance to practice my sewing skills and transfers.  Check out her blog to see the results as my tag went on it's journey .  http://onewomanshands.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2011-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2012-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=50

I joined a fabulous group thanks to my bud, Jewels.  Tag Tuesday's theme was snow.  I wanted a vintage look and used my inchies to make small squares.  Also used my Nick Bantock stamp.  Recycled paper all around even the snowflakes that I salvaged off of an invitation. I am inspired by this group and proud to be a part of it.   Check out the awesome, diverse , wonderful tags here: http://tagtuesday.blogspot.com/

Postcard from Germany
Germany was not a tourist stop on our around-the-world trip.   Most memorable was our going to see an Elvis movie about motorcycles.  It was "Roustabout" in German with the songs in English.  Sabine, in Germany, has kindly translated the movie title to: "Koenig der heissen Rhythmen" which means King of Hot Rythms, which made me chuckle.  So, Elvis and money are my postcard's theme.
