Working on a new piece
Thursday, August 13, 2015
Interested in trying new techniques. This is painted tissue, painted deli paper, and a piece of carpet plastic ( the grid work). I have made some red marks with pastels, but I don't like the way it looks pink. I've used gesso and white paint. Lots of work yet to do. The process is the fun. Stay tuned.

Homage to Monet #2
Living in a place with ponds, lakes, streams and water lilies, I was inspired to create a series of Monet-like pictures. This 30" x 40" mixed-media on canvas will be part of my new show being hung at the Botanic Garden Visitor Center at Historic Barns Park in Traverse City, MI. The opening reception will be Aug. 14, from 5pm- 7pm. Enjoy the beautiful gardens and barns. Come and enjoy my art.

Casino Collage
with Beth Bynum
Time to
play. One way to rejuvenate creativity
is to have fun. Throw caution to the
wind and try out Casino Collage. The
dealer, Beth Bynum, will tell you the direction to go: scribble with a crayon, cut letters in half,
make a Styrofoam stamp, add tissue, make a faux postage stamp, splatter, cover-up, rip off, add color, stencil,
and let the cards do the thinking. Take
a risk. Experiment. Collage is forgiving: “anything goes”. Take home two 5” x 7” pieces of original
art. Play the Casino Collage game, or do
your own thing, but come join the fun and let your sparked imagination be the
payout.
Class
length: 2 hrs. Two class sessions to be
held at the Park Place Hotel. All materials furnished. $85 per person (members). $105 Non-members. Class size limited to 15.
