Just returned from Mackinac Island.  Last night was the reception and award announcement for the juried exhibit held at the Manoogian Gallery.  I took an Honorable Mention along with a very positive response from the juror and viewers.  I am very proud of this piece made of cut paper, corrugated cardboard, and tissue.  The art will be at the gallery until the first of November.  If you get a chance, stop in and have a look!

Accepted into the ISEA Symposium

Even though the 2015 ISEA Symposium isn't until September, these are my entries (entries close June 10).  Two entries with a chance for one to get in the show.  The art will be hung at the Dennos Museum in Traverse City.  The symposium is  a week long event with a featured class taught by Rufus Snoddy.   Headquarters is at the Park Place Hotel.  During the week, there will be a number of demonstrations and classes. There are planned tours of the Old Mission wineries, south to the Elizabeth Oliver Art Center, and a trip to the Botanic Gardens and the Grand Traverse Commons. It should be a fantastic week: Sept. 23- Sept. 29. Oh, and I will be teaching a class called Casino Collage.  Find out about the symposium on line.

Artfest 55 at the Creative 360 gallery in Midland celebrates the 6th annual exhibit of creative people 55 and over.  This is one of my pieces entered in the juried show.  Opening celebration and award presentation is Friday, June 12th 6:30-9:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.  Refreshments will be served.  Activities also include a Senior Moments Talent Show and Sentimental Journeys, a written word competition.

Meet and Greet, Bonobo Winery
