Collagraph-on a press

Floral 1..collagraph printed on a press has been my latest adventure.  This was basic collagraph created by cutting cardboard and arranging it on a cardboard plate, adding tissue, string, and using oils to print on a press.  I then collaged using a similar print.  Totally different.

Have you ever been working on a piece of art and it just doesn't come together?  Well, this latest effort, "Barnyard Beauty",  has been about a two weeks off-and-on endeveaor.  Getting ready for Down on the Farm: Art in Agriculture show that will be on display at Gallery Fifty at the Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse Ciy, MI.  Reception is on Fri., Sept. 6.  Wabi Sabi inspired...vintage paper, stenciling, collage, junk printing,.. just up my alley. 

Also entered "Heart's Haven Lost", 20" x 20", Mixed-media.  Hope the judge likes them.  Hmmm...what's with all of the x's, I wonder? LOL

The three pieces above have been accepted at the "Map It " show at the Riverside Gallery in Ypsilanti.  They were created with maps in the background, collagraphs, relief printing, and collage.  This will be the first time my printmaking has been in a juried show.  I'm pleased (see that big smile from ear-to-ear).
